• Gastric stimulant
• Digestive Tonic
• Cholagogue
• Nervine
• Anti-inflammatory

 

Indications

 

• Digestive insufficiency - Sluggish digestion, Hypochlorhydia, Constipation, flatulence, colic, bloating, loss of appetite
• Heartburn/ Reflux – from insufficient gastric acid
• Jaundice
• Anorexia
• Headache and nausea – associated with a sluggish liver

 

Contraindications

 

• Avoid in Pregnancy and Lactation
• Avoid if you have a peptic ulcer or digestive hyperacidity (high stomach acid)
• Consult your Doctor before taking Gentian if you have Low Blood Pressure or are taking Antihypertensive drugs
• Stop using gentian at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery

 

Dosage

• Adult – 10 drops (0.5 ml) 3 times daily
