Pharmacological Actions

• Demulcent
• Vulnerary
• Emollient
• Diuretic
• Expectorant

Indications

• GIT inflammation, reflux, gastritis, peptic ulcer, enteritis, colitis
• Inflammation of Mouth and Pharynx
• Respiratory – irritating coughs and catarrh, asthma, bronchitis
• Hoarseness
• Cystitis, Urethritis
• External – skin problems – e.g. eczema, wounds, ulcers, boils, varicose veins

Contraindications

• Avoid in Pregnancy, Lactation, Diabetes or if taking Lithium
• Take at least 1 hour away from Prescription Drugs and Vitamin and Mineral Supplements
• Please seek immediate Medical attention if there is blood in the urine or if pain or irritation from cystitis persists for more than 48hours.
• Stop taking at least 2 weeks before a General Anaesthetic

• Adult – 40 drops (2ml) 3 times daily
