Pharmacological Actions

• Expectorant
• Anti-spasmodic
• Anti-bacterial
• Antiseptic
• Anti-tussive
• Carminative
• Astringent
• Anthelmintic
• Bitter

Indications

• Respiratory Infections, Irritable spasmodic coughs, Bronchitis, Asthma, Whooping Cough, Nervous cough, Pleurisy
• Digestive infections, Dyspepsia, digestive debility, gastritis, peptic ulcer, infectious diarrhoea
• Gargle - Laryngitis, Tonsillitis, Sore Throats
• Externally – infected wounds, fungal infections

Contraindications

• Avoid in small children and the elderly.
• Avoid in Kidney or Liver Disease and Oestrogen-sensitive conditions
• Avoid in Pregnancy and Lactation
• Avoid in known allergy to Oregano or other Lamiaceae species.
• Avoid if taking Anticoagulant / Antiplatelet medications
• Stop taking at least 2 weeks before a General Anaesthetic

• Adult – 20 drops (1 ml) 3 times daily
